Pregnancy Castings

A lasting tribute for this magical time

Pregnancy transforms your body in ways you never imagined, focusing entirely on nurturing new life. While challenging, it is also empowering and beautiful. What better way to preserve those memories than with a stunning cast.

Pregnancy Castings

Pregnancy is a journey of profound change, where your body transforms to nurture new life. You watch in awe as your bump grows, feel those precious kicks, and share the excitement with loved ones. It’s a beautiful, empowering time filled with anticipation and love. Though challenging, many find themselves missing the bump once it’s gone. Capturing these memories with a bespoke sculpture allows you to hold onto that special time forever, and feel empowered through your pregnancy. A stunning keepsake that you and your partner can cherish.

Kieative Keepsakes offers three signature services for Pregnancy Castings: Womb Bowls, HD Belly Bowls and Pregnancy Torso Castings.

We also provide Bump to Baby packages that combine the Womb Bowl castings and a "Hello Baby" photoshoot.

Womb Bowls

Womb bowls, crafted by layering warm plaster bandages over your pregnant belly, create a unique replica of your pregnancy shape. If desired, busts can be included in the casting to highlight your pregnant form. Once dried, the bowls are strengthened, smoothed, and painted in your chosen colour.

Womb bowls are ideal for use as newborn photography props, keepsake holders for "my first" items, or even as decorative fruit bowls. They can also be hung with added ribbon. The best time for creating a womb bowl is around 37+ weeks, or earlier for twin or multiple pregnancies.

HD Belly Bowl

HD belly bowl casts capture every intricate detail of your skin, from delicate lines to natural textures showcasing the strength and beauty of your body during this incredible journey.

Partners' hands can be included to symbolise support and love. Whether it's your first or last pregnancy, this is a beautiful way to celebrate and cherish the power of your body forever.

Underwear can be worn.

Pregnancy Torso Castings

A Pregnancy torso body cast is a beautiful way to capture the unique shape of your body during pregnancy. The casting includes your bump, neck, shoulders and bust. Options to include hands or underwear details are available for an additional cost.

FAQs

CASTING
  • We book 1-hour slots for all casting sessions, but many can be completed in less time. Smaller casts, such as single hands or feet, take around 20-30 minutes, while larger family or HD pregnancy casts may take up to 90 minutes.

  • Your finished cast will be ready for collection within 8-12 weeks, depending on the level of detail and custom finish required. This process is vital and will not be rushed, ensuring the casts have longevity and can be passed down for generations to come!

We'll notify you once your cast is ready.

  • We use Alginate, a safe, skin-friendly material derived from seaweed. It’s non-toxic, biodegradable, and gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin, including babies and pets.

  • We can cast almost any body part, including hands, feet, faces, baby bumps, and even pets’ paws. Whether it's an individual, couple, or group, we’ll create a bespoke piece for you.

  • Absolutely! Our materials are 100% safe and gentle. For pets, we adjust the mixture to ensure it’s quick and stress-free for them.

  • Yes! We can cast babies from as young as 10 days. During the session, we ensure they’re comfortable and happy, even allowing them to feed or sleep during the process.

Rest assured we also have bubbles and soft toys or can play nursery rhymes to help distract the babies for the 90 seconds we need them to be in the alginate. Babies can however be fed or sleeping while having castings taken. We will cast around the baby's needs!

  • Life casting can be done at absolutely any age. Believe it or not, most of our wrigglers have been between 6-24 months. There are no age restrictions for life casting services.

  • For body casts, wear loose, comfortable clothing. We may need easy access to arms and legs (sleeves and trousers can be rolled up), however, we provide aprons and sheets in order to protect you and your loved ones.

If casting a baby bump, avoid lotions or oils on the area beforehand. We’ll provide any additional instructions as needed before your session.

  • Yes, rings can be worn and captured with your castings, be it engagement, wedding, family inheritance jewellery and/or costume jewels. (1 complimentary ring per adult hand, additional charges apply for extra rings worn during casts).

  • We have a wide selection of frames to choose from, with different colours and finishes. Before your casting is taken we always have a mini consultation and go through options for how you would like to display your casts at home. Frames, plinths, glass domes and, best of all, free-standing casts (felt applied at bottom of free-standing casts to protect base) are our most popular choices however we are always up for challenges and open to suggestions after all they’re your very own personal works of art so you decide how you want to display them in your home.

  • Our casts are usually with a metallic finish, however, if you would like something different we would be more than happy to accept the challenge!

  • Yes! We offer DIY Kits for baby hands and feet, bump casts, and even lip impressions, so you can create your own keepsakes at home.

  • Overlay casting technique using alginate involves applying the material directly to the body part instead of the material being held in a container. This method allows greater precision and flexibility in positioning. We use this method for our Belly Bowls, Body and Memorial casts.

  • Womb Bowl uses Plaster bandage, Belly bowl uses alginate and variety of different techniques as well as more sculpting work for the finished look.

  • To keep your plaster sculptures in excellent condition follow these tips:

    1. Keep away from moisture. Display in a dry area away from humidity.

    2. Handle with care. Handle gently and avoid placing it in ‘high-traffic’ areas.

    3. Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth or feather duster to clean. Avoid water and cleaning sprays.

    4. Avoid direct sunlight.

5.Repair minor damage promptly. Do not hesitate to be in touch for professional assistance to restore any sculptures.

  • Yes, we offer sensitive and compassionate memorial casting services, working closely with families and healthcare providers to capture cherished moments with loved ones.

MATERIALS
  • Alginate is 99% of naturally derived ingredients including seaweed this is more commonly used by the dentist industry to make teeth impressions however it is allergy-free eco-friendly biodegradable and non-toxic

  • Stone Plaster is a non-toxic, high-strength powder that hardens on drying. It is a casting compound which has exceptional surface hardness.

We assure you that we use the best quality stone plasters to fill your sculptures and ensure their longevity so they can be treasured forever.

  • Plaster bandage is a special woven cloth impregnated in top-quality plaster. The bandage can be simply soaked in water to shape and form itself to suit the body part. plaster bandage is also a fast-setting material.
