  • How long does a Casting session take?
    Kieative Keepsake csting sessions are hour slot bookings. during your casting session moulds of desired body parts will be taken afterwards they are filled using stone plaster to create your life casts they are set over 24hours and then removed from the molds. Alginate sets very quickly once mixed it then sets within 90seconds however one hour is to ensure castings can be taken smoothly and most efficiently with prep and clean up in time for our next customer.
  • Can rings be worn?
    Yes, Rings can be worn and captured with your castings also. Whether it be engagement wedding family inheritance jewelry and or costume jewels. (1 ring per adult hand complimentary additional charges apply for extra rings worn during casts)
  • How long does it take?
    We book ourselves 1 hour slots for all casting sessions however most sessions do not need a full hour and it can be done in less time. Larger casts especially with multiple hands or families and our HD Pregnancy Casts may take up 40-90 minutes.
  • Where are you based?
    We are based in Ealing London, however if for any reasons you cannot get to us we will be more than happy to cast you in the comforts of your own home! (depending on location for mobile bookings extra charges apply)
  • What age is recommended for babies?
    Life casting can be done at absolutely any age. Believe it or not the most of our wrigglers have been between 6-24 months however no age restrictions for life casting services. Rest assured we also have LED lights and bubble machine with nursery rhymes playing in our studio to help distract the babies for the 90 secs we need them to be in the alginate for. Babies can however be fed, or sleeping while having castings taken whichever suits them we will cast around their needs.
  • What should we wear?
    We recommend you wear something that is comfortable and ‘old no need to make any effort getting all dressed up for castings. We need easy access to arms and legs (sleeves and trousers can be rolled up) however we provide aprons and sheets in order to protect you and your loved ones.
  • When will they be ready?
    We currently have a 6-10 week turnaround due to the drying of the casts. This process is vital and will not be rushed, making sure the casts have longevity and can be passed down for generations to come!
  • How can we display our castings?
    We have a wide selection of frames to choose from, different colours and finishes. Before your casting is taken we always have a mini consultation and go through options for how you would like to display your casts at home. Frames, Plinths, glass domes and best of all free standing casts (felt applied at bottom of free standing casts to protect base) are our most popular choices however we are always up for challenges and open to suggestions after all they’re your very own personal works of art so you decide how you want to display them.
  • What colours do you use?
    Our casts are usually with a metallic finish. All of our 3d casts since our pro training will now be airbrushed however our womb bowls are hand painted usually in iridescent pearl however if you would like something different we would be more than happy to do so.   • What is Alginate?
    Alginate is 99% of naturally derived ingredients including seaweed this is more commonly used by the dentist industry to make teeth impressions however it is allergy-free eco-friendly biodegradable and non-toxic Each and every one of Kieative Keepsakes moulds are taken using Alginate
  • What is Stone Plaster?
    Stone Plaster is a non-toxic high strength powder that hardens on drying A casting compound has exceptional surface hardness. We ensure you that we use the best quality of stone plasters to fill your sculptures and make sure they have longevity to be treasured forever.
  • What is Plaster Bandage?
    A plaster bandage is a special woven cloth impregnated in top quality plaster. The bandage can be simply soaked to shape and form to suit as well as being fast setting. Bump bowls are created with a Plaster bandage and it is always used to support larger castings styles. (HD bumps Face and memorial casts)
